Cardiac Surgery in growing Asia

Cardiac Surgery in growing Asia

In South Korea 90% of all cardiac surgeries are performed in one city – Seul. But 58% of people live outside Seul.
Therefore, in South Korean population (50.000.000) there are approx. 18.000 cardiac surgical procedures performed yearly. This is twice too low comparing to Poland’s population demands:

  • 38.000.000 people, 25.000 procedures in more than 15 cities (large, medium and high population density).

This is how growing markets in Asia look like – centralization and lack of progress in distal agglomerations. Such silent potential of market exists in majority of the world.
Presented analysis is done by Quantum Innovations based on data collected by National Health Insurance Service in Korea.
